About the Role
We are building a talent pool of experienced Blast Superintendents to support future opportunities within our operations. Reporting to the Production leadership team, this role plays a key part in coordinating drill and blast activities to achieve safe, efficient, and high‐quality production outcomes. You'll work closely with a skilled and supportive team, contributing to the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of blast activities on site.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support blast crews to deliver safe, compliant, and effective outcomes.
* Oversee drill and blast activities including preparation, timing, QA/QC, and execution.
* Collaborate with engineers, technical specialists, and production teams to meet operational targets.
* Contribute to a culture that prioritises safety, teamwork, continuous improvement, and clear communication.
* Support training, coaching, and development of team members.
* Champion inclusive and respectful ways of working.
Qualifications
* Relevant mining qualifications and statutory competencies (e.g. S123, G2).
* Shotfirer accreditation / Queensland Shotfirer Tickets.
* Previous supervisory experience within a Drill & Blast or blasting operations team on a coal mine site.
* Strong knowledge of drill & blast planning, field operations and safety processes.
* The ability to build trusting relationships and support others to perform at their best.
* A calm, inclusive and proactive approach to decision‐making.
* A commitment to maintaining a positive safety culture and high operational standards.
