Team Leader – Member Services

About the opportunity
The Member Services sections provide support to the Tribunal's members. This includes administering Member files, liaison with parties, file management, notifying decisions and finalising matters.
Role responsibilities
* Report to the Assistant Director and lead an operational team by coordinating and managing workflows.
* Motivate, coach, and influence staff; manage performance and ensure services are effective and efficient.
* Support the Assistant Director to identify team priorities, ensure quality outputs and provide high‐quality advice on registry issues.
* Build a culture of continuous improvement, inclusiveness, accountability and respectfulness, and respond to quick changing needs.
* Build high level productive relationships with Members, Senior Members, List Leaders and Jurisdictional Area Leaders.
* Provide direction, supervision, motivation and training/development guidance via active mentoring and timely performance development plans, and performance management according to Workplace Relations & Wellbeing policies.
* Coordinate new staff induction; monitor individual training plans and check in with Members and Tribunal Officers/Tribunal Services Officers to record achievements and development needs.
* Reallocate work and resources in response to absences, member needs, caseload priorities and supervise efficient utilisation of the member services pool.
* Manage relationships with stakeholders including national counterparts to achieve work area consistency and agency goals.
* Update, implement and maintain accurate processes and procedures.
Qualifications – Desirable
* Tertiary qualifications OR relevant experience in a similar work environment OR subject‐matter expertise related to one or more of the ART's jurisdictions.
* A completed, or substantially completed, recognised degree in laws of an Australian tertiary institution or comparable overseas qualification.
Eligibility
* Australian citizenship.
* Required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and a Health Assessment.
