Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
You will work alongside theatre staff and be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, packaging and sterilisation of surgical sets.
We have opportunities for permanent part‑time roles and hours will be negotiated with successful candidates.
Cert III/IV in Health – Sterilising desirable, not mandatory.
The Position
- Maintain cleaning tools and equipment in good condition.
- Restock cleaning and sterilisation supplies and report low stock.
- Undertake cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation of all reusable medical devices within Main Theatre and Day Surgery units.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your understanding of instrument cleaning, handling, disinfection and sterilisation processes.
- Practice good housekeeping to maintain a clean and tidy work area.
- Maintain efficient, standards‑based practice to provide quality medical devices for clinical use.
- Perform daily and weekly tests and cleaning as required.
- Keep accurate and thorough documentation.
- Organise repair servicing via MexOps, tagging out as required.
You will have the ability to use initiative, demonstrate reliability and require minimal supervision and guidance.
To succeed you will have an understanding of Infection Control principles and practice, and relevant education in sterilising technology is desirable.

We can offer you
- Salary: $62,932 to $69,489 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time), plus 12% superannuation.
- Permanent part‑time role, working up to 32 hours a fortnight.
