About the role
Northeast Auto Group Shepparton is seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of trucks and commercial vehicles. Your expertise will help ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard, keeping our customers on the road.
What you'll do
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
* Plan jobs and order required parts.
* Work to job card requirements and timelines.
* Identify and report any additional repair needs.
* Complete all paperwork accurately and on time.
* Maintain a strong focus on safety in every task.
* Reassemble vehicles in accordance with documented procedures and processes – pre-accident damage condition.
* Disassemble damaged body panels and reassemble once repaired.
* Test and evaluate reassembly components for safety and operability.
* Check parts list and allocate to correct vehicles.
* Use hand tools and battery power to remove damaged parts and replace components, ensuring vehicle is correctly disassembled and reassembled.
What you'll bring
* Trade qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (essential).
* Minimum 3 years post-trade experience as a heavy vehicle mechanic (essential).
* Strong diagnostic skills (essential).
* Current driver's licence (essential).
* Retail workshop experience (desirable).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation abilities.
* Automotive labouring skills and knowledge.
* Good attitude, with excellent communication skills.
* High attention to detail.
* Reliable, hardworking and a team player.
* Strong commitment to working safely.
