We’re seeking a Science Laboratory Technician to support our STEM Faculty in delivering engaging and safe science learning experiences. This hands‑on role ensures that our laboratories, materials, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, enabling teachers and students to explore science with confidence and curiosity.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare materials, equipment, and solutions for practical lessons.
- Manage the safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals and biological materials.
- Maintain laboratories, storerooms, and equipment in a clean, organised, and compliant state.
- Support teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain inventory records and assist with ordering consumables and managing budgets.
- Contribute to WHS compliance and safety audits within the STEM Faculty.
About You
You’re methodical, safety‑conscious, and enjoy bringing science to life for young learners. You thrive in an organised environment, can juggle multiple priorities, and enjoy being part of a collaborative and forward‑thinking team.
You’ll also bring:
- A passion for working with young people and contributing to their educational experiences.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and WHS requirements.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in a laboratory setting (school, university, or research preferred).
- Relevant qualifications such as Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Skills (or equivalent).
- Current Blue Card (or eligibility to obtain one) and First Aid/CPR certification.
