Grade Control Geologist
If you're looking for a short, technically focused contract with a defined roster and meaningful grade control work, this role offers structure, hands-on involvement, and a clear scope from day one. This Grade Control Geologist role is a 3-month contract, starting mid to late June, supporting upcoming grade control programs associated with an operating open pit mining environment. You'll work an 8/6 roster FIFO ex Perth, Friday to Friday, providing a predictable routine and consistent time on site. The work is directly tied to current production schedules, with a clear focus on delivery rather than exploratory scoping or long-term studies. The role is strongly site based and hands on. You'll be responsible for RC drill rig supervision, sample collection, geological logging, and managing sample preparation and despatch to the laboratory. Close interaction with mining, drilling, and technical teams is part of the day-to-day, making communication and organisation essential.
Responsibilities
* Supervise RC drill rigs, collect samples, perform geological logging, and manage sample preparation and despatch to the laboratory.
* Collaborate with mining, drilling, and technical teams to ensure data quality and timely delivery.
* Maintain logging and sampling standards under production timelines and manage priorities independently in a live mining environment.
* Contribute to grade control activities with accountability for geological outcomes and data integrity.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Geology
* Minimum 2 years experience in grade control and/or production-focused geological roles
* Demonstrated open pit mining experience
* Strong RC drill program experience
