The Opportunity
We are seeking a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner based in Busselton or the surrounding South West region.
You will work on a diverse range of projects including land development, strategic planning, regional growth initiatives, and complex land matters unique to Western Australia.
You will also gain exposure to Crown Land, Native Title, Aboriginal heritage, and tenure considerations, receiving support to grow your expertise in these areas.
Regional travel within Western Australia may be required for stakeholder engagement, site assessments, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clear, well researched planning advice
• Manage development applications and planning processes across state and local frameworks
• Assess land use opportunities and development constraints
• Engage with government agencies, community groups, Traditional Owners, and industry partners
• Contribute to business development and new project opportunities
• Coordinate subconsultants to ensure successful project delivery
Your Qualifications and Experience
We welcome applicants with a range of experience. Remuneration will reflect your capability and expertise.
You will ideally have
• A tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning
• Two to ten years of professional planning experience
• Knowledge of Western Australian planning legislation, policies, and approval processes
• Experience or interest in development applications, structure planning, and rezoning
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and planning related software
• A self motivated, proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
