Ongoing full‐time role at Liverpool; part‐time applicants welcome to apply.Role SummaryAs a Mental Health Worker in the Domestic Violence Unit (DVU), you will support clients experiencing domestic and family violence with complex mental health needs to navigate the legal and service systems. Working within a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary team, you will deliver trauma‐informed support through risk assessment, safety planning, referrals and advocacy, ensuring clients feel heard, supported and empowered. By helping clients understand their rights, connect with the right services and actively participate in their legal matters, you will play a vital role in reducing retraumatisation and improving long‐term safety and wellbeing outcomes.Responsibilities
* Support clients experiencing domestic and family violence with complex mental health needs.
* Deliver trauma‐informed support through risk assessment, safety planning, referrals and advocacy.
* Assist clients in understanding their rights and connecting with appropriate services.
* Collaborate with legal and service professionals to facilitate clients' participation in legal matters.
* Keep accurate and confidential records of client contact and progress.
Qualifications
* Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, or Australian Permanent Residency for ongoing roles.
* Completed relevant pre‐employment checks (Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check, Conduct Service Check).
* Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in psychosocial support environments such as community mental health or recovery‐based, person‐centred practice.
* Hold a Diploma Level 5 or above (minimum two years of study) or a professional qualification and registration (or eligibility for registration) for Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Bachelor of Health Science.
