Due to the continued success and growth of Seven Consulting, we built a Change Management Practice in 2023 to complement our Program Delivery, Program Management Office (PMO) and Consulting services.
We’re delighted to grow our Practice in Sydney, Melbourne and Manila.
Established in 2002, Seven Consulting is Australia's best program delivery company. Our results show client satisfaction at 99.45% and team satisfaction at 97.52% for 2024, and those figures continue to hold firm.
We specialise in the successful delivery of large-scale, complex IT-enabled business transformation projects ranging from $1M to $1.4Bn with some of Australia's top companies. We have offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Manila.
We are looking for one experienced, talented Change Director, who is at the top of the market, to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. Our Change Director role is a ‘hands on’ role – meaning that it has a client delivery focus (as opposed to a general management focus).
Your New Role
As a Change Director, you will have responsibilities across our Change Management Practice (internally) and with our clients (externally). The following points provide an overview of expectations for the role, noted that there will be a degree of flexibility in the role based on capacity from billable work.
Change Management Practice responsibilities:
As a Change Director, you will work closely with our General Manager Change Management.
Responsibilies will vary but typically include:
* Business development - Taking briefs from clients with the ability to provide strategic direction, indicate next steps and follow up with insight. Contribute to proposals, expressions of interest and panel submissions. Attend relevant networking events.
* Recruitment - Support the recruitment process for the Change Management Practice, ensuring our high standards are maintained
* Quality assurance - Perform QA reviews and ensure action plans are tracked effectively
* Improvement - Identify and deliver improvements to the Change Management Practice
Client-facing responsibilities:
As a Change Director, you will work directly with our program sponsors and clients in hands-on roles across all areas of Change Management to deliver high quality outcomes. Each engagement is different, but typically a Change Director is expected to be able design, lead and deliver Change Management services on a complex program or portfolio with responsibilities that include:
* Undertaking a discovery process to analyse change drivers and identify enterprise-level or industry themes
* Scoping Change Management work and making resourcing and cost estimates
* Understanding and leading organisational change at the enterprise level
* Analysing a client's business, operations and structure to understand where there is a potential impact from change and to what level that impact needs to be managed
* Proposing solutions to reduce or mitigate the potential impact of organisational changes
* Meeting, influencing and presenting to executive stakeholders including preparing business documents and slides
* Undertaking advisory services, which typically include a review, analysis and recommendation of an ePMO or Change Management function
* Proposing strategic tactics to manage organisational changes at the enterprise level in a way that leads to the desired outcomes
* Executing on multi-year plans while reporting on progress, raising risks and issues, maintaining effective relationships, and being a supportive project team member
* Evaluating and measuring the success of change interventions across activity, proficiency, usage and adoption
* Applying Project Management principles as well as Agile, Waterfall and hybrid methods
* Providing the needed level of support to the recipients of change as well as business leaders and sponsors during and after the project
* Mentoring and motivating Change Management practitioners who are more junior in the team
* Contributing thought leadership (articles, speaking at conferences, webinars) to our Practice and the field
What You Bring
Coming into the Change Management Practice at the Change Director level means that you will bring past leadership experience, in-depth knowledge of transformation programs and the end-to-end strategy, planning and delivery of organisational change. Typically, Change Directors have:
* 12+ years of dedicated experience in Change Management
* Experience building and/or leading a Change Management team, practice, centre of excellence or enterprise function
* Experience running a Change function that was responsible for big investment (approx $100M)
* Experience designing and managing a single view of change
* Experience managing Change Management practitioners who are more junior
* Experience managing end-to-end change across multiple streams of large, complex, multi-million-dollar programs that deliver process, people/culture and technology changes
* Experience providing consulting services and leading proposals/bid preparation
* Experience speaking at conferences (virtual or in person), on podcasts or in other forums on topics in/related to Change Management
* A Bachelor's degree or higher (often in Psychology and Organisational Psychology, Business, Communications/Journalism, Human Resources, Project Management, Applied / Behavioural Science or similar)
* Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint, and including Microsoft Project
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with well-honed executive presentation skills
You will also possess the following essential attributes for managing change at this level
* Strategic thinking
* Influencing and negotiating
* Business acumen
* Networking and connecting
* Challenging the status quo
* Developing new perspectives on organisational change management and leadership
* A strong interest in progressing the field of Change Management
To be eligible for employment you must either be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or have a visa with work rights.
