Position Overview
The Bureau is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Radio Frequency (RF) and Spectrum Officer.
The role is critical to protect our services by analysing the potential performance impacts of wind farm developments on the Bureau's observing system assets, including weather radars, and supporting RF analysis for the acquisition and maintenance of spectrum licenses and the determination of non-ionising radiation safety zones for Bureau RF systems.
Responsibilities
Analyse the impacts of wind farms on the performance of Bureau sensors.
Conduct RF analysis for the acquisition and maintenance of spectrum licences.
Determine non-ionising radiation safety zones for occupational and general public safety for Bureau RF systems.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have extensive technical experience in RF propagation, interference and path loss calculations, reflectivity, spectrum allocation management, software modelling and physical measurements.
Experience applying RF expertise to weather radars, wind profilers, ionosondes, RF communications links, and active and passive satellite measurements is essential.
