Kings Beach Surf Club (Metropolitan Caloundra Surf Lifesaving Supporters Club Inc.), overlooking the iconic Kings Beach Pool, is known for its quality meals, great customer service and amazing views.
The Club is seeking to employ a Full-Time Chef and Cook to join our team, who can cater to a premium bistro-style menu featuring modern Australian cuisine.
Cook Key Responsibilities:
* To prepare, cook and present (or otherwise delegate to other kitchen staff including cooks) food for consumption
* Supervising and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.
* Inspecting supplies, equipment's and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
* Ordering and maintain inventory of food and supplies.
* Communicate with the managers and supervisors regarding issues relating to preparation and service in the restaurant
* Ensure kitchen staff follows directives and be responsible and accountable for food service.
* Ensuring food preparation and quality is of the highest standard possible
Chef Key Responsibilities:
* Supports the executive chef, sous chef, line chefs as well as other kitchen employees in food production
* Assists kitchen staff in maintaining high cuisine standards for patrons as well as delegates
* Assists the line chefs in the production of different foods for example vegetables, meats, and pastries
* Assists the head chef in ensuring that food is prepared and served to the patrons on time
* Helps the head chef in the development of menus
* Assists other junior kitchen staff in ensuring that the restaurant is keep clean at all times
* Assists the head chef in making requisitions for food
* Assists the kitchen staff in storing all food that is left over
Key requirements:
* Vocational/trade qualifications will be favourably considered;
* Be an experienced Chef/Cook with a minimum 1 years’ experience;
* Proven experience in a similar fast paced environment;
* Demonstrate a reliable employment history;
* Be dedicated, hard-working and passionate about exploring new ideas; and
* Must be available to work a 7 day roster including mornings and evenings.
