This role is to lead the people function at King Kong, owning the full people function – recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, off‐boarding, performance, policy, compliance, payroll reporting, staff events and activities. You'll also coach and advise our management team, drive HR system and documentation, and recruit actively across LinkedIn, networks and outreach.
Responsibilities
* Be the trusted advisor and partner to the leaders of our organisation, providing expert advice across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
* Ensure the company is meeting compliance standards.
* Be the driver of a wide range of initiatives that engage and retain our people.
* Be the expert for employee relations matters, supporting our Management team in navigating such issues.
* Manage the end‐to‐end recruitment process, onboarding and off‐boarding of staff.
* Work with our managers to identify capability gaps across the business and help design targeted training to close them.
* Build the capability of our management team through structured coaching and training as it relates to P & C matters – e.g. having difficult conversations, setting goals with their teams, and developing career pathways for direct reports.
* Provide reporting and feedback on P & C strategies implemented within the company.
* Own our HR system, HR drive, and employee documentation – keeping everything accurate, current, and actively used by managers and tribe members.
* Own fortnightly payroll reporting to our external payroll partners – capturing new starters, terminations, salary changes, leave, and any other payroll‐impacting changes so the tribe gets paid right and on time.
* Lead and develop our existing People & Culture Lead, who is keen to learn more.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or similar.
* Minimum 4 years HR experience, with at least 1‐2 years operating autonomously across the full HR lifecycle.
* Experience in Recruitment.
* Demonstrated experience coaching or directly managing other people leaders, including the credibility to challenge them when needed.
* Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
* Working knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to employee relations, including being across relevant codes and standard practice.
* Confidence in conducting and coaching managers through employee lifecycle conversations – and the resilience to hold the line when needed.
* Solution‐focused mentality.
* Unparalleled organisation and time‐management skills.
* Comfortable owning fortnightly payroll reporting to an external payroll provider – with the attention to detail to ensure every change to staffing, salary and leave is captured accurately and lands in the right pay cycle.
* Pragmatic and commercial – finds the right‐size solution to protect the business without adding unnecessary process.
* Experience working in a fast‐paced environment and tech industry is a PLUS.
