About this position
The Planning and Development directorate is seeking a professional and energetic Technical Support Officer to join the Future Planning team.
Based at the City's Civic Centre, this permanent technical support role provides administrative and technical services across a range of strategic land‐use planning projects, including project coordination, land administration and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include supporting the progression of strategic projects, coordinating advertising and post‐advertising processes for Council reporting, undertaking land administration tasks, preparing mail merges and researching information to assist with customer enquiries.
In this role, you will:
Provide administrative and technical support for strategic planning projects
Coordinate community consultation processes and prepare public materials
Produce reports, correspondence and Council documentation
Undertake land administration tasks (e.g. title searches, easements, acquisitions)
Maintain project tracking systems and document control processes
Respond to stakeholder enquiries with a strong customer focus
Assist with procurement processes, including purchase requests and quotations
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
Well‐developed communication, customer service and data entry skills
The ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks and work with minimal supervision
Well‐developed research and problem‐solving skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team outcomes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and corporate business systems
While not essential, possessing a working knowledge of planning legislation and the subdivision assessment process will support your effectiveness in the role.
Driver's licence
Current National Police clearance (less than three months old). This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
