Endoscopy Nurse Coordinator – Fixed‐term, full‐time (parental leave backfill) until May 2027, 40 hours per week plus ADO. Salary packaging available.
About the Role
As the Endoscopy Nurse Coordinator you will prioritise the booking of patients referred by the Gastroenterology, Colorectal and Upper GI Units, ensure a comprehensive pre‐admission process, and reduce potential complications and cancellations for patients unprepared for a procedure. You will work within the Endoscopy Bookings Office at Austin Hospital, part of the Surgical, Anaesthesia and Procedural Medicine Directorate.
Responsibilities
* Prioritise patient bookings based on referrals.
* Coordinate comprehensive pre‐admission processes.
* Identify and mitigate risks of complications and cancellations.
* Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams.
* Maintain accurate clinical information within the system.
* Support emergency surgery and endoscopy demands.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in nursing.
* At least 2 years as an Endoscopy Liaison Nurse and/or Surgical Liaison Nurse.
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational and clinical skills.
* Advanced knowledge of the Victorian Guidelines for Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy.
* Advanced knowledge of Endoscopic procedures.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic team.
* Demonstrated proficiency in clinical information systems.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Problem‐solving skills in complex situations.
