Job Summary
As a skilled Production Machinist LPCT 054, you will operate conventional machining tools and equipment to manufacture castings to customer specifications. This role requires proficiency in operating Electrical Discharge Machines (E.D.M.) and Computerized Numeric Controlled Machines (CNC) with precision and accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. They should also possess basic computer skills and be able to interpret technical documents.
Main Responsibilities
* Operate various conventional machining tools and equipment including E.D.M. and CNC machines to machine castings to customer specifications.
* Measure and position castings using measuring devices and fixtures.
* Calibrate and adjust fixtures as needed.
* Review tooling and castings after rework or changes.
* Remove gates and complete rough and finish machining operations.
* Perform precision machining of castings to proper dimensions and configurations using drill presses, mills, lathes, and other machines.
* Inspect machined parts visually and dimensionally to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
* Participate in first article inspections and review tooling and castings after rework or changes.
* Perform preventive maintenance on machines to optimize performance.
* Meet or exceed department quality, productivity, and efficiency averages.
* Document all logs and records, including quality deviation reports and standard corrections.
