About the Role
Ready to make a real impact in a high-stakes environment? Belmont Hospital is looking for a reliable and committed Health and Security Assistant to join our team. In this dual-purpose role, you'll be at the forefront of patient and staff safety, while also playing a hands-on part in supporting clinical care. From responding to Code Black incidents to escorting patients and assisting with general cleaning duties, no two days will be the same – and that's exactly how you like it. You'll work side-by-side with nursing and clinical teams to provide a secure, supportive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
In this role, you'll:
Be responsible for cleaning of the Sub-Acute Unit on a daily basis
Assist nursing staff with patient care and comfort
Provide security support and help manage aggressive or high-risk situations
Escort and transport patients throughout the hospital
Maintain safety and cleanliness in line with hospital standards
Be a key part of our Code Black response team
About You
You're calm under pressure, clear-headed, and not afraid to step into challenging situations with confidence and care. Your security licence isn't just for show – you know how to de-escalate tension, communicate effectively, and back your team up in critical moments.
You must have:
A current NSW security licence – Master Licence Number:
A valid first aid certificate
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
The ability to remain professional and compassionate – even in tough scenarios

An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.
This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
