About the Role
The Older Persons Mental Health Service is seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide high-level clinical leadership and strategic support.
* This pivotal role involves leading and guiding the strategic development and management of a community mental health team.
* Drive change management initiatives to implement models of care and service improvements.
* Oversee human and physical resources to ensure optimal service delivery.
* Champion best-practice clinical processes for improved client outcomes and enhance consumer and carer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Coordination: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary mental health teams, supervise staff, and manage clinical activities and resources effectively.
2. Strategic & Quality Focus: Strong understanding of the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, commitment to implementing models of care, and experience in quality and safety processes.
3. Communication & Compliance: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, stakeholder engagement capability, and knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, and professional standards (including current nursing registration).
4. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess a specialist tertiary graduate or post-graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed an accredited hospital-based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
5. A minimum of 3 years postgraduate clinical experience in the context of a community mental health team.
