About the Position Girton Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to inspire and challenge students to improve their skills and understanding of Humanities. Your role will be to create, design, develop and deliver curriculum in line with evidenced-informed practices that is challenging, educational, inclusive, and encourages optimal outcomes. Part-time of full-time options available (0.78 to 1.00 FTE) Fixed-term parental leave position from 8th September 2025 through to 27th March 2026. Key Selection Criteria / Essential Qualifications and Skills Current teaching qualifications and registration, meeting all professional and regulatory standards. Deep curriculum and subject knowledge, with a passion for promoting mastery through explicit instruction and knowledge rich content. Skilled in explicit instruction and evidence-informed pedagogy, including strategies such as retrieval practice, spaced learning, and formative assessment. Commitment to continuous professional learning, engaging with the science of learning and reflective practice to improve student outcomes. Strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills, supporting structured and predictable classroom environments that maximise cognitive engagement. Commitment to student wellbeing and child safety, applying inclusive, and developmentally appropriate practices aligned with diverse student needs. Effective and purposeful use of digital technologies, supporting explicit instruction, differentiation, and student self-regulation. Active participation in co-curricular activities, recognising their role in enhancing student motivation, identity, and social-emotional learning.
