The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our Brisbane‑based team. This role is critical in supporting our business to achieve its HSE objectives and in strengthening our safety‑first culture across operations in Queensland and Western Australia.
Working closely with operational leaders and employees, you will provide expert guidance, ensure compliance with legislation and standards, and drive initiatives that deliver sustainable business outcomes. This is a dynamic, hands‑on role requiring regular interstate travel and strong stakeholder engagement.
Your Role
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in line with ISO standards and Australian legislation.
- Partner with managers and teams to embed best‑practice safety and environmental management.
- Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, and site audits across QLD and WA.
- Design and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs.
- Analyse HSE data and provide insights to support informed decision‑making.
- Build strong relationships with regulators, industry bodies, and stakeholders.
- Maintain a visible safety presence across sites through regular travel.
About You
We are looking for a proactive professional who can balance technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills. You will be confident in influencing at all levels, able to work independently, and committed to building trust and driving positive change.
Your background and experience
- Qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation.
- Demonstrated skills in risk management, incident investigation, and safety leadership.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Flexibility to travel interstate as required.
