About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Pricing Actuary, this role will take a lead position in delivering actuarial analysis and performance monitoring to support product pricing, portfolio management, claims optimisation and strategic decision‐making across Avant.
You will work closely with stakeholders across underwriting, claims, finance and risk to deliver high‐quality analytical insights that drive sustainable portfolio growth and improved business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a key part in delivering actuarial and analytical insights that support pricing, portfolio management and commercial decision‐making across the business. You will work closely with stakeholders across underwriting, claims and risk to provide high‐quality analysis, monitor portfolio performance and help drive sustainable growth outcomes.
You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Pricing & Analytics function by supporting reporting frameworks, improving analytical processes and providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members. This role offers the opportunity to combine strong technical capability with commercial thinking in a collaborative and fast‐paced environment.
About You
* Associate or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or equivalent)
* Experience within the insurance industry, ideally across pricing and claims analytics
* Strong actuarial pricing and outstanding claims valuation experience (long‐tail experience highly regarded)
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
* Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic and solutions‐focused mindset
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment
* Experience mentoring or leading junior team members
Preferred Experience
* Previous experience in an actuarial leadership role
* Experience with SAS, Python or similar analytical tools
* Exposure with SQL
