Job Title: FIFO Laboratory Assistant
We're looking for a FIFO Laboratory Assistant to join our relief pool based in Perth. In this role, you'll support different onsite laboratories as needed, helping keep day-to-day testing running smoothly. This is a hands‐on position suited to someone who enjoys practical work, variety, and being part of a team.
You'll be comfortable working in a laboratory environment, following clear procedures, and maintaining accuracy while handling samples.
Responsibilities
* Loading, unloading, sorting and weighing samples onto drying racks
* Making sure samples stay in the correct numerical order at all times
* Analysing mineral samples using laboratory equipment such as ICP, XRF and AAS
* Checking incoming samples against submission forms and recording any missing or extra samples
* Milling samples and transferring sub-samples into packets, following quality and contamination control procedures
* Assisting with screening, crushing and other laboratory tasks as required
Qualifications
* Previous experience working in a minerals or analytical laboratory
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage repetitive tasks accurately
* Clear communication skills and the confidence to ask questions when needed
* A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to work across different sites
* The ability to work safely and follow laboratory procedures at all times
