Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Water Group in Brisbane. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and designing electrical systems, and networks for engineering projects in the Water Division.
Responsibilities
* Perform electrical engineering design including modelling, engineering drawings, calculations, reports and design criteria to support electrical engineering projects.
* Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical systems using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
* Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials and the development of electrical specifications.
* Contribute to the development of electrical systems through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
* Prepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
* Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.
* Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
* Be available for onsite visits or project commissioning as required from time to time.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical.
* At least 10 years' or more experience in a similar position with well-rounded experience in Water and Wastewater projects.
* Consultancy industry experience is highly beneficial.
* Knowledge and experience in LV and MV power systems in Australia.
* Experience with CAD and power engineering software tools.
* Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
* Hold CPEng and RPEQ status.
* Be willing to offer mentorship to junior engineers based on appropriate level of knowledge.
