The Opportunity
Montague Farms has an exciting opportunity available for a passionate and dedicated Compliance and Food Safety Coordinator. Reporting to the Head of Quality, Food Safety and Assurance, the Compliance and Food Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the monitoring of all quality procedures and programs while leading our internal and external compliance audits. This role is essential in delivering a highly visible and comprehensive quality management program to support compliance initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitoring and maintaining the quality management program, ensuring production processes meet industry food safety certification schemes and standards in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements
* Maintaining the Approved Supplier Program and monitoring suppliers
* Coordinating and supporting external food safety compliance audits
* Deliver and maintain appropriate records of relevant training
* Monitoring compliance against control programs identified within the HACCP plan, including conducting risk assessments and completing relevant verification and validation activities
* Investigating and troubleshooting production and compliance issues and ensuring required corrective actions are closed in a timely manner
About You
* A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Science or similar (Essential)
* Demonstrated hands on experience in a quality coordinator role ideally in a food manufacturing environment and/or in the agricultural industry
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and protocols including HACCP, HARPS, Global GAP
* Knowledge of ethical standards, including Smeta
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
* Broad knowledge of work processes and quality system requirements
* Skills in identifying and improving quality systems
* Excellent problem‐solving skills
* Highly developed interpersonal skills
Hours of Work
This is a full-time permanent position (Monday – Friday) based at our Narre Warren North head office. Travel will be required to our orchard sites.
