To help lead this next chapter, we’re seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join our finance leadership team. About the Role Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller is a critical leadership role within the business, acting as the second-in-command of the finance function and providing oversight across financial operations, governance, reporting, compliance, and process improvement. This role sits between the CFO and Finance Manager and will lead the day-to-day finance function while helping shape the strategic direction of the department. You will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving reporting capability, supporting business growth initiatives, and building a scalable finance platform for the future. What You’ll Be Doing Financial Leadership & Business Partnering Act as the CFO’s trusted deputy and provide leadership across the finance function. Partner with the executive team to support strategic decision-making and business performance. Deliver meaningful financial insights, analysis, forecasting, and recommendations. Support future growth initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and finance transformation projects. Financial Reporting & Governance Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across multiple entities. Prepare executive and board reporting packs, including detailed financial analysis. Oversee consolidated reporting, intercompany accounting, cash flow forecasting, and financial performance reporting. Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS requirements. Coordinate year-end audit activities and external stakeholder relationships. Finance Operations Provide leadership and oversight across payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, management accounting, settlements, and financial administration. Drive operational excellence, process consistency, and financial control across all finance functions. Mentor and develop the finance team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Risk, Compliance & Continuous Improvement Strengthen governance frameworks, financial controls, and compliance processes. Lead finance transformation, automation, and AI-driven efficiency initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve reporting quality, operational effectiveness, and scalability. Support enterprise risk management and corporate governance activities. What You’ll Bring We’re looking for a technically strong finance professional who combines commercial thinking with operational leadership. You’ll bring: CA or CPA qualification. Significant experience in Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Audit, Assurance, or Business Services environments. Experience leading finance teams and managing end-to-end finance operations. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS. Experience working across multiple entities and complex corporate structures. Advanced financial reporting, forecasting, and analytical capability. Strong process improvement, automation, and systems optimisation experience. The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. A proactive, solutions-focused approach with exceptional attention to detail. Highly Desirable Experience within property, residential development, construction, or real estate sectors. Audit or public practice background. Experience supporting high-growth businesses through periods of scale. Exposure to finance system implementations, business intelligence reporting, or automation initiatives.
