This is a 7 month fixed term, fulltime position commencing as soon as possible. Applicants who are available to commence in Term 3, 2026 are also encouraged to apply.

Hedland Senior High School (SHS), located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public‐School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The Role

At Hedland SHS we have a vibrant Arts Learning Area, with a team who promotes excellence across the arts. As a recognised Specialist Arts Program (Creative Arts Extension), we have access to exceptional practical facilities including the Matt Dann Cultural Centre (a theatre which seats 300 people) including a foyer area and green room.

We aim to foster student development of arts ideas, skills and processes and creative and critical thinking through providing a range of teaching and learning strategies, and opportunities for personal growth. We provide ongoing pathways in Senior School that build students' confidence and management in community events and performances. Such opportunities allow students who want to enrich their learning through the Arts at Hedland SHS by participating in the Creative Arts Extension programme that includes a school production, music showcases, the annual Visual Arts, Media and Photography Exhibitions and music ensembles.

In this role, the successful applicant should be motivated and able to teach secondary Arts. Knowledge and experience teaching drama, dance and/or music contexts within the Western Australian (WA) Curriculum is highly desirable. You should be flexible and driven by collaboration as the role may involve team teaching opportunities with other staff members.

* hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.

* consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
