NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and expanding producer with strong community-based values and conscientious work culture. Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 75km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining and ore processing operations.
As the Light Vehicle Mechanic you will contribute to the optimisation of the performance, availability, and safety of the light vehicle fleet by performing preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs. The role is residential, based in Charters Towers or DIDO (Accommodation Provided) working on a 7/7 roster.
The key responsibilities for the role include to:
* Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs, including diagnosis and troubleshooting, on all light vehicles.
* Assist other members of the maintenance department as required.
* Accurately record all work carried out and book out parts correctly.
* Set up and operate hand and power tools common to mechanical trades including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools.
* Use, maintain, and store all equipment in an appropriate manner.
* Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials or products and notify supervisors.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and look for improvement opportunities.
* Respond to breakdowns.
About you:
* Mechanical Trade Certificate
* Current manual driver's license
* 3 years of experience working on light vehicles
* 1 year's experience working on a mine site
* Forklift ticketAir conditioning ticket (Desirable)
