The Procurement and Contracting Team (PaCT) operates within the Procurement Policy Branch (PPB) of the Department of Finance. PaCT serves as Finance's central procurement team, delivering expert contextual advice, oversight, and quality assurance for all procurement lifecycle activities across all Finance areas.
Opportunity
The Assistant Director within PaCT plays a key role in Finance's procurement activities. You will work closely with the PaCT team to ensure services for internal clients are accurate, timely, and clear. The role involves building productive and influential relationships with stakeholders, providing timely support and strategic advice on procurement methods, best practice, and policy, and undertaking procurement assurance and compliance activities.
Responsibilities
* Support each client's journey through the procurement lifecycle, from scheduling, planning, risk management, and probity to development of Approach to Market documentation, procurement execution, evaluation, negotiation, Delegate approvals, contract formalisation, and AusTender reporting.
* Provide guidance on contract management issues and risks for client groups.
* Implement changes to Finance's internal procurement framework, develop and maintain procurement templates, analyse and report on procurement data, and conduct procurement maturity and quality assurance assessments when requested.
* Ensure advice remains compliant with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework and other government legislation and policies, supporting continuous development for personal and team proficiency.

* Employees must be Australian citizens, unless the Agency Head grants a written waiver under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999.
