About the role
As Maintenance Supervisor at Adina Hotel Chippendale, you demonstrate enthusiasm and flair for providing exemplary guest service by embracing the "Go MAD" philosophy. Responsible for managing all processes within the maintenance and engineering department and directly responsible for the implementation of all preventative maintenance scheduling and planning of expenditure as determined and outlined.
Responsibilities
1. Respond and attend to guest repair requests and welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests.
2. Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
3. Communicate with different types of people to comprehend what they want and to provide them with information and assistance.
4. Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS (Property Management System) and update remarks once the task is completed.
5. Update the maintenance work order form / Job card and file them.
6. Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.
7. Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgment.
8. Perform maintenance activities in hotel public areas like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment, and cosmetic items.
9. Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties and able to work independently.
10. Operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
11. Be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
12. Repair walls, maintain a swimming pool, garden areas, plant rooms, AC filtration, check and maintain function rooms, and deal with sub‐contractors. Experience on the plumbing side is an added advantage.
13. The role is sometimes on call.
Qualifications
14. Minimum 1‐2 years of experience. Building management experience, e.g., in aged-care, not necessarily from a hotel background.
15. Possess appropriate Industry Trade Qualification.
16. Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills.
17. Testing & tagging licenses are not essential but advantageous.
