Mensa is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and customer-focused Restaurant Manager to join our team.
The key focus of this role is to drive customer experience and through service and attention to detail in presentation of the restaurant, maintaining the right ambience and the charming atmosphere of 44 The Parade West, Kent Town.
This role is very much a service-based position, with administrative duties built into the day-to-day role.
Reporting to the Directors & Executive Chef, ambition, high level competency in role, and keen understanding of restaurant management are crucial.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
* Operations of the restaurant – rostering, bookings, enquiries, and any other touchpoints with our guests
* Resolving customer queries and feedback
* Encourage staff to be the best version of themselves, for our guests and the broader team – knowledge of food, wine and service being of paramount importance
* Implementing strategies for increasing revenue and reducing waste.
* Input of strategic development of the business, working with Directors to implement
* Fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
* Knowledge and understanding, and implementation of food safety, liquor licensing, and WH&S protocols
* The ability to be flexible with business needs, as described by the Directors
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in higher end restaurant management is essential.
* At least 2 years' experience as a FOH Manager or similar within the hospitality industry.
* Participate as a member of the senior management team, contributing to business planning and strategic business motivations
* Oversee private events, and exceed guest experiences
* Can hustle, and use time efficiently
* Can evoke a kind and professional resolve any issues or feedback, promptly
* Communication, problem-solving, lateral thinking, and team leadership
* Personal style, flair, and presentation are a must
