MADEC is seeking a compassionate and proactive Regional Liaison Officer to provide pastoral care and support to workers participating in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme across Adelaide's northern suburbs and surrounding regions.

This is a unique opportunity to combine community engagement, advocacy, wellbeing support, and practical problem-solving in a role that genuinely changes lives.

The position is currently offered on a casual basis; however, there is potential for a permanent full-time opportunity in the future for the right candidate. Equally, this role is ideal for someone seeking flexible casual work that offers purpose, variety and meaningful connections.

About the Role

As a Regional Liaison Officer, you will be the primary point of contact for PALM Scheme workers, helping them successfully settle into life, work and community in Australia.

No two days will be the same. You may be assisting a worker to attend a medical appointment in the morning, supporting accommodation or transport arrangements in the afternoon, and helping resolve workplace or community concerns later in the day.

This role requires a genuine commitment to supporting people from diverse cultural backgrounds and ensuring their wellbeing, safety and success while working in Australia.

What You'll Be Doing Supporting Workers
* Develop trusted and supportive relationships with PALM Scheme workers.
* Provide practical and pastoral care support across a range of areas including:
o Medical appointments
o Community and family connections
o Workplace matters
o Accommodation and transport support
o Translation assistance
o General advocacy and wellbeing support
* Act as the primary point of contact for worker enquiries and concerns.
* Assist workers on arrival and help them settle into their accommodation and workplace.
* Maintain regular contact with workers throughout their placement.
* Identify and address issues that may impact wellbeing, engagement or productivity.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
* Act as a positive advocate for workers within the local community.
* Support workers to access essential services and participate in community activities.
* Help workers maintain cultural, social and religious connections where possible.
Safety, Compliance & Reporting
* Promote safe work practices and worker wellbeing.
* Conduct toolbox meetings and safety discussions.
* Assist with inductions, training and documentation where required.
* Report incidents, hazards and worker concerns promptly.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation.
* Support investigations and return-to-work processes where necessary.
About You

You may come from a background in:

* Community services
* Case management
* Employment services
* Human services

Most importantly, you will bring empathy, resilience and a practical approach to supporting people.

What You'll Bring
* Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
* Strong knowledge of the local Adelaide region and community networks.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
* Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office and email systems.
* Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities.
* A genuine desire to support and advocate for others.
