Primary objective

Under the direction of the Project Manager, manage discrete projects and work with stakeholders to ensure project outcomes and the delivery of commitments in the Fines Recovery Unit.


Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide project management support services, advice and support to the Project Manager and other senior departmental staff on matters relating to the project initiatives.
2. In collaboration with relevant teams, manage the development of key project deliverables including research, project planning, scoping, communication plans, procurement activities, contract management, project monitoring and evaluation in the required timeframe and within budget.
3. Timely production of quality reports and briefings on project milestones and deliverables including the preparation of high-level correspondence involving politically sensitive and complex social matters linked to the current projects.
4. Contribute to a culture of achievement with a focus on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of client services through a high level of professionalism, innovation and quality client focus.


Selection criteria


Essential

1. Knowledge of the process of debt recovery and enforcement, relevant legislation and FRU policy and procedures or capacity to quickly acquire the same.
2. Demonstrated experience in project management and ability to successfully drive, coordinate and manage projects and milestones, critical success factors and actions on time.
3. Demonstrated capability in research, project planning, design and scoping, and understanding of the principles and standards of monitoring and evaluation practice.
4. Demonstrated strong work ethic, with evidence of an ability to set and achieve goals with minimal supervision, respond to changing situations and circumstances, and produce quality work both individually and as a team member.
5. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships and networks and collaborative partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
6. Demonstrated high degree of organisational skills and analytical ability together with sound written and oral communication and negotiation skills that support project deliverables and reporting requirements.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of Commitment to Service, Innovation, Ethical Practice, Accountability, Impartiality, Diversity and Respect.
