Where you’ll be working
Get ready to join the Residential Aged Care In Reach team, right in the heart of one of NSW’s most loved coastal cities. Think beaches before or after work, cute cafes on every corner, a lively arts scene and public transport that actually makes life easier. As part of Hunter New England Health, you’ll be surrounded by people who genuinely care about doing good work and doing it together. Our team is collaborative, compassionate and all about providing person‑centred care that meets each resident where they’re at.
About The Role
As a Registered Nurse with the In‑Reach Service, you’ll play a vital role in supporting residents within Residential Aged Care settings. No two days will be the same as you:
- Deliver evidence‑based care aligned to patient goals
- Advocate for residents and support families and carers in navigating the health system
- Respond effectively to changing clinical conditions and emergencies
- Build therapeutic relationships and practise within ethical and cultural boundaries
This is a role where you’ll balance autonomy and teamwork, using your skills and compassion to make a real difference in the lives of older people.
About You
You’re the kind of nurse who brings warmth, patience and clarity to your work. You communicate well, think critically and handle competing priorities without losing your cool. You’re committed to cultural respect, you value collaboration and you believe in lifelong learning. You care deeply about doing right by older people and you bring NSW Health’s CORE values to life through the way you treat residents, families and your team.
What We Can Offer You
- Monthly Allocated Days Off (for full‑time employees)
- 6 weeks annual leave (for eligible full‑time nurses)
- Paid parental leave (for eligible employees) – giving you the opportunity for true work‑life balance
- Salary packaging options – up to $11,600 plus novated leasing
- Fitness Passport for health and well‑being – discounted gym options for you and your family
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and family members
- Chance to work and collaborate with a range of non‑clinical and clinical professionals
Education & Support
From day one, you’ll have a solid support crew behind you. You’ll get a proper orientation, ongoing education and guidance from Clinical Nurse Educators, Nurse Practitioners, and an experienced management team. Working within the Excellence Framework means your growth is taken seriously, and you’ll have plenty of chances to develop, specialise and keep building the career you want.
