How you'll make an impact

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you'll play a key role in shaping a positive workplace culture during an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you'll work closely with senior leaders and managers to deliver strategic and practical people solutions that support organisational success. This is a dynamic partnering role where you'll have the opportunity to influence decision‐making and help drive contemporary HR practices across the organisation.

In this role, you will:

* Support the development of a HR Business Partner and HR Adviser.

* Provide expert coaching and advice on a broad range of P&C matters, including employee relations, performance management, talent management, recruitment, retention and leadership capability.
* Partner with leaders to navigate organisational change and support the successful delivery of change initiatives.
* Provide employee relations guidance and end‐to‐end case management support.
* Drive continuous improvement within the P&C function by identifying opportunities to innovate and strengthen HR partnering practices.
* Anticipate workforce and organisational needs, delivering proactive and strategic HR solutions.

What you'll bring

You are an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast‐paced and complex environment. You bring a strong foundation in contemporary HR and employee relations practices, along with the confidence to influence, coach and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

* Demonstrated experience in HR business partnering or consultancy within a complex organisation.
* Strong working knowledge of contemporary HR and ER practices and frameworks.
* Excellent communication and relationship‐building skills, with the ability to influence and provide trusted advice.
* A pragmatic, solutions‐focused approach with a strong focus on outcomes.
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, high‐performing and supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your leadership and HR partnering experience and work within a collaborative team environment where your expertise and ideas will be valued.

We offer a unique workplace that sits at the heart of Victorian democracy. You will work in a historic precinct with modern technology, contributing to an institution that values integrity, professional growth, and a supportive team culture.

Former Victorian Public Service employees who have accepted a Separation Package may apply for this role. Any re‐employment restrictions that may apply within the Victorian Public Service do not prevent eligible candidates from being considered for employment with the Department of Parliamentary Services.

A secondment from the Victorian Public Service may also be possible, subject to agreement between the two employers.

Through our commitment to diversity and equality, we are actively engaged in promoting and maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment where all employees are respected, valued, and supported. We seek to recruit the best people, regardless of gender, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation or cultural background.
