Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist (Psychiatrist – Older Persons Mental Health)
Gold Coast Health is looking for a Psychiatrist to join the Older Persons Mental Health service. This 750-bed teaching hospital is located in a metropolitan coastal location of Queensland and serves a population of 600,000 people.
The Mental Health Service offers inpatient, outpatient, and community teams. The inpatient capacity includes 130 beds across several units, such as a 50-bed psychiatric unit with an ICU sub-unit, an 8-bed child and youth unit, a 16-bed aged care unit, and a 59-bed extended care, rehabilitation, and psycho-geriatric unit. Community services comprise 2 adult and 2 child/adolescent clinics and a mobile intensive therapy team. The service supports training for overseas-trained doctors.
You will provide both inpatient and community-based services and have extensive teaching and research responsibilities.
Candidate requirements:
Registered medical practitioner and specialist psychiatrist
FRANZCP
with the Medical Board of Australia.
Over 20 years of experience in medical recruitment (advantage but not required).
