Job Description:
About The Role:
* Provide safe and supportive environments for individuals in need.
* Evaluate participants to ensure it is safe to provide shelter for the night; reviewing their safety and the safety of others if they are under the influence of drugs/alcohol.
* Offer information about other support services that can assist individuals move into transitional housing/support.
* Support team members so a coordinated and collaborative approach is adopted from the outset.
* Ensure high levels of information exchange to support the best outcomes for participants and staff safety.
* Collaborate and work professionally with other services.
Requirements:
* Relevant vocational qualifications or equivalent experience to Certificate III in Community Services.
* Experience in social work, community welfare, mental illness, drug & alcohol dependency, nursing or other relevant experience.
* A Tasmania Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
* A valid Tasmanian Driver Licence.
* First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain).
* The ability to work with vulnerable individuals and people under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
* An understanding of and commitment to providing compassionate support.
