We currently have a full-time position available for a Chef to join the Spotless team located at the Adelaide Immigration Detention Centre. Spotless as a subcontractor to Secure Journeys will be responsible for preparing and serving culturally diverse nutritious meals contributing to the overall health and well‑being of those in the centres.

We currently have a full‑time role available for experienced Chefs to join the Spotless team located at the Adelaide Immigration Detention Centre. Spotless as a subcontractor to Secure Journeys will be responsible for preparing and serving culturally diverse nutritious meals contributing to the overall health and well‑being of those in the centres.
What you’ll do
- Assemble, prepare and produce food requirements as directed by the Catering Manager. This includes ensuring food safety, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, managing stock control and adhering to all kitchen policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitor food safety standards and practices, maintain hygiene in food preparation areas and complete all Food Safety Documentation accurately and timely.
- Monitor and enforce food storage standards, ensuring proper handling and rotation of stock using First In First Out (FIFO) principles and maintaining appropriate holding temperatures for perishable items.
- Ensure compliance with our Standards of Business Conduct and contribute to a culture of safety and quality improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Knowledge of menu and nutritional standards
- Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
- Exemplary bulk cooking skills (ideal Aged Care or Resources experience)
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and drive to provide high‑quality outcomes for Spotless and our client
