Position Summary

The Head of Portfolio and Innovation for the ANZ business is a key leadership role for a senior technical marketing professional responsible for driving growth, defining a clear portfolio strategy, management of third-party assets and driving development ambitions for new technologies. The role leads Development, Regulatory and Marketing experts and is accountable for driving the long-term strategy, direction, revenue and growth aspiration for the ANZ business. The Head of Portfolio and Innovation will drive strategies to leverage customer intelligence and market insights to create and improve FMC's value proposition for the future development portfolio, new innovations and the existing core technologies. As a key member of the ANZ Leadership Team, the Head of P & I will demonstrate sound strategic, commercial, and financial acumen to enhance sustainable business performance, while taking a "hands on" approach in driving for tangible results.

The Role (daily responsibilities)

Team Management

* Lead and align a multifunctional team of experts (Development, Regulatory and Marketing) to ensure a consistency in portfolio and development strategies
* Develop and drive individual development plans aligned with FMC criteria are implemented across entire team
* Develop and Instill a culture empowerment and accountability focused on driving success for FMC and individual development.

Commercial

* Responsible for management of third-party customers, contracts, trading terms for existing core and development portfolio opportunities
* Identify opportunities to maximise ROI on new and existing assets across all crop and market segments which we have FTO
* Partner with the Managing Director to develop a consistent third-party strategy that aligns without GTM strategy across ANZ
* Develop and execute the annual strategic portfolio and innovation strategy aligning all appropriate functional areas to maximize the defined results
* Define and drive execution of the portfolio growth strategy, via organic growth, partnerships and third-party opportunities maximizing ROI
* Drive and align the marketing functions in the development of the business unit LRP (long range plan) and budget.
* Develop strategies and initiatives to combine technologies (synthetic and biologicals), digital platforms, services, and other technologies into a compelling offer for target customer groups
* Ensure implementation of crop, ai and formulation focus strategy by proposing, prioritizing and driving key product-based development initiatives, maximizing product opportunities, defending current positions and aligning market development, sales and regulatory priorities
* Align functional experts to drive best in class product-positioning efforts through information about competitive products, prices and programs, new development pipelines and changes in industry trends
* Support the development of clear off patent strategies considering third-party opportunities, pricing, LCM projects etc
* Lead Development, Regulatory and Marketing functions to effectively collaborate in the new product development process, stage gate review forum, and project & pipeline management
* Partner with the Managing Director, Regional Marketing, Regulatory and Development Directors to ensure that our innovation investment and the new products that are developed are fit for purpose to deliver sustainable, profitable growth, in a timely manner. in Alignment with the Managing Director, manage third party innovation and business strategy to Identify key gaps within the product pipeline or parties better positioned to drive FMC technology

Budget & project management

* Drive and align senior team leaders (Development Manager ANZ, Regulatory Manager ANZ, Senior Portfolio Lead ANZ) and align with Managing Director to set the Development and Regulatory budget including project cost estimates and proposed expenditures for the year
* Have accountability for sound marketing and financial assumptions in project business cases.
* Drive a mindset to ensure project milestones are clearly articulated, agreed, planned and delivered
* Optimise development investments through synergies between projects
* Develop a clear development strategy – which defines proof of concept strategy, full scope development gate and aligns with broader portfolio strategy
* Enter the development and regulatory updates into the monthly S&OP process and data to the LRP as needed
* Ensure that development plans and activities are aligned with FMC's growth strategy, market approach and regulatory implications
* Support the implementation of new development projects and position ANZ at the forefront of Global project consideration
* Support and align with the Head of Market Development, Head of Sales and Head of KAM to drive acceptance of new market innovation across the territories
* Ensure clear communication of strategy / NPI / timelines with the Leadership team so that business alignment can be achieved.
* Coordinate the collection of the detailed information required to support new investments in newly identified market opportunities

Driving strategic marketing, regulatory and development relationships

* Maintain and develop relationships with equivalent roles associated with key third party stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes and strengthen FMCs presence in the market
* Act as liaison for government industries/bodies
* Handle third party contract negotiations

Product Stewardship & Sustainability

* Align Product Stewardship, Sustainability and Responsible Care Codes of APG across all function outputs
* Ensure alignment between development and regulatory recommendations and marketing initiatives are in compliance with local regulations and FMC standards

The Candidate (requirements)

* BA Degree in Agriculture Business and Management / Agronomy and Crop Science / Marketing.
* 3-5 years of experience in Product launch
* 3-5 years of experience in New Product Development
* 3-5 years of Management experience
