We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Factory Maintenance Manager to join our Stapylton team. This role would suit a trade-qualified professional with a Fitter and Turner or Maintenance background, who thrives in a manufacturing environment and is physically fit, reliable, and safety-focused.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems, tools, and equipment are maintained to support efficient, safe, and continuous production.
Core Duties
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on critical production equipment
- Maintain and service all machinery, hand tools, and mechanical systems
- Keep a detailed log of maintenance and repairs undertaken
- Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule
- Manage spare parts and tool inventory
- Complete a daily maintenance diary
- Fabricate, assemble, and test parts using mechanical and welding tools
- Recommend and coordinate outsourced maintenance services when required
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers
- Support Research and Development activities as required
- Assist production teams to achieve targets when needed
- Carry out minor electrical and building repairs (if qualified)
- Replenishment of maintenance equipment and materials as needed
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with safety procedures
- Other duties as required by the Operations Manager
Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards
- Identify, report, and rectify faults and hazards immediately
- Manage and mitigate risks associated with high-risk plant and equipment
Experience & Qualifications
- Mechanical trade background essential (Fitter & Turner or equivalent)
- High level of mechanical aptitude experience maintaining roll formers highly desirable
- Proven expertise in machinery servicing and repair
- High initiative and attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of safe work practices.
- Good communication and time management skills
- Ability to be flexible in approach to work and to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to maintain records regarding material, equipment, and repairs.
- Welding knowledge and ability
