Job Description Your New Role
Reporting directly to the Group R&D Manager, you will lead process development trials, scale up R&D concepts, and drive manufacturing performance. This role offers a dynamic split between the office and production floor where you will translate technical food science into practical manufacturing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide hands‐on technical support for equipment and packaging validation.
* Manage recipe builds within our unique, custom in‐house database and maintain accurate recipe data and Bills of Materials (BOM).
* Partner closely with the operational teams to review yield and waste data, actively optimizing costs, capacity, and line efficiency.
* Create, update, and maintain post‐launch visual guides, work instructions, and SOPs to ensure repeatable execution of implemented process.
* Collaborate daily across Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and our Dietitians under a structured PMO framework.
About You
We are seeking a clear, concise communicator who can seamlessly navigate a busy factory floor, resolve differences of opinion constructively, and influence positive outcomes.
To be successful, you will bring:
* A proven track record in food manufacturing, ideally within Ready Meals or high‐volume FMCG. Packaging experience is a strong plus.
* A strong analytical mindset with proficiency in recipe databases and advanced Excel. Experience or interest in Power BI reporting is highly regarded.
* A solid understanding of regulatory requirements, including FSANZ and HACCP food safety systems.
* The ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, write clear plans, and successfully manage timeframes for individual sub‐processes.
* A bachelor's degree in food science (or equivalent) plus current HACCP credentials, with a preferred plus 10+ years of heavy food industry experience in a similar capacity.
