Role Overview
The Cleaner In Charge is responsible for daily duties including opening and closing the school, arming and disarming security alarms, internal cleaning duties (carpets, floors, toilets, furniture, windows, dusting, rubbish removal) and other general cleaning. External cleaning duties include verandas, covered areas, drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, and general cleaning. Vacation cleaning duties include stripping and sealing vinyl floors, carpet shampooing, pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas.
Responsibilities
* Manage cleaning staff performance in consultation with Manager Corporate Services.
* Liaise with Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters and record/respond to issues.
* Maintain cleaner's time book, arrange relief staff, monitor and order stock supplies, and perform stock take of cleaning resources.
Qualifications
Preferred experience in supervising staff and coordinating cleaning tasks. Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in school or commercial cleaning. Experience in safe storage of cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals. Ability to interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions and training guidelines.
Eligibility
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number before starting.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with work rights for the appointment term.
