The successful candidate will be part of our R&D team based in Rydalmere, leading the transformation of a multi-national design team through a critical phase of digital modernisation. This role ensures excellence in design processes, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration using CAD, PLM, and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise and mentor a team of design professionals.
2. Oversee CAD, PLM & ERP systems impacting all product SKUs.
3. Manage creation and change of design data across ERP and CAD platforms.
4. Ensure high-quality outputs using Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
5. Drive innovation, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
6. Lead PLM system rollout and ensure robust change control.
7. Maintain compliance with internal and external standards.

About You
* Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
* Certifications in digital systems, PLM, ERP, or process improvement (preferred).
* Proven leadership experience in design roles within manufacturing or engineering environments.
* Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
* Practical experience with PLM systems and BOM management.
* Familiarity with SAP ECC and S/4HANA; experience with FIORI apps is a strong plus.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical teams.
* Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive digital transformation initiatives.
* Experience in water heating or appliance design within a manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
