Location: Perth.
Duration: 12 months (subject to extension).
Employment Type: Casual Contract.
You will report to the Principal Designer and be offered the following opportunities:
* Adhering to company values, as well as safety standards and practices.
* Ensuring designs comply with relevant regulations, codes, internal standards, procedures, specifications, and industry best practices.
* Producing high-quality 2D and 3D models and design drawings based on engineers' calculations and sketches.
* Developing plant layouts using preliminary project data, basis of design, and other key inputs.
* Reviewing vendor drawings, models, and technical design data.
* Delivering assigned work within project schedules and budgets.
* Tracking and maintaining progress of drawings produced by assigned team members.
* Managing design and drafting resources to meet agreed deliverable timelines and cost targets.
* Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams across various business units.
* Presenting 3D models and drawings to stakeholders.
* Contributing to project reviews, including design reviews, safety reviews, risk assessments, cost estimation, and schedule reviews.
What you bring:
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering Design Drafting or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical design/drafting, preferably within mining or mineral processing industries.
* Strong knowledge of industry standards and specifications.
* Proven experience in plant layout design and detailing, particularly for materials handling and process plants (full plant layout capability is essential).
* Proficiency in Bentley 2D and 3D design software.
* Demonstrated experience supervising drafting personnel.
* Practical understanding of fabrication and construction techniques within materials handling and mineral processing environments.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Highly motivated, adaptable, and flexible, with the ability to respond to changing project requirements and timelines.
