Primary objective
Assist with the development and delivery of Minor New Works and Repairs and Maintenance projects, and some Capital
Works projects, to maintain roads and other civil assets in the Region, ensuring projects are delivered as defined by various
Project Managers and to the satisfaction of clients.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Assist with the investigation, development and formulation of the civil asset acquisition and maintenance programs for
roads and other civil assets in the region.
2. Assist the nominated Project Managers to deliver assigned Minor Works, Repairs and Maintenance, and some Capital
Works civil.
3. Conduct asset inspections and assist with the preparation of project proposals, technical reports, estimate of costs,
contract documentation, procurement, and contract administration/supervision documentation.
4. Carry out all duties in accordance with Departmental OH and S, EEO and environmental guidelines.
5. Remote travel is a requirement.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. A relevant qualification awarded by an Australian Institution, or equivalent, or relevant experience in a field of technical
work closely related to the duties of the vacancy.
1. Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to assist in the preparation of design, procurement, and
project management documentation.
1. Knowledge of road and civil industry design, construction and maintenance techniques and practices, including roads,
land servicing and hydraulics and best practise environmental management.
4. Good information technology skills including work processing and spreadsheet software as well as project management
and design tools.
1. Working knowledge of the requirements of the relevant legislation and policies, as applied in the NT as well as a range
of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, and association Guidelines.
6. Current Driver's Licence.
Desirable
1. Certificate IV in Government Procurement.
2. Knowledge of business management and business drivers in a commercial environment.

Primary objective
As Project Officer Civil, manage the development and delivery of assigned Minor New Works and Capital Works projects,
to maintain roads and other civil assets in the Katherine Region. Provide high level specialist advice in discipline area of
expertise to management, clients, and other project managers.
Key duties and responsibilities
1 Contribute to the investigation, development and formulation of the civil asset acquisition and maintenance programs
for roads and other civil assets in the region.
2 Undertake asset inspections. Prepare project proposals, technical reports, estimate of costs, contract documentation,
procurement, and contract administration / supervision to ensure that workmanship / materials comply with current
standards, codes and guideline and all relevant clearances are obtained.
3 Supervise and coordinate work delegated to other Technical Officers assigned to particular projects.
4 As Project Manager Civil, deliver assigned Capital Works and Minor New Works projects in the region, ensuring projects
meet the client's requirements in relation to time, cost, and quality in accordance with briefs provided by Client
Departments.
5 Carry out all duties in accordance with Department OH and S, EEO and environmental guidelines.

1. Current Driver's Licence or ability to obtain.

1. Diploma in Project or Contract Management and / or Construction Management.
2. Sound Knowledge of business management and business drivers in a commercial environment.
