Work Health & Safety Advisor

Overview
Mona's Safety and Wellbeing team works across a wide range of industries from museums to wineries, restaurants, construction sites, horticulture, and recording studios. This role will take over the portfolio of the current Health and Safety Advisor who is retiring, helping develop and maintain a strong safety culture.
Key Details
********* FTE (30.4 to 38 hours per week)
Salary $*******k+ super (pro-rata)
Location: Berriedale, Tasmania (primarily on-site with some work-from-home)
What You'll Do
Participate in risk management activities, facilitate risk assessments, develop SOPs, and conduct control verification.
Drive safe systems of work, quality incident investigations, and leadership through training, coaching, and monitoring of client groups.
Craft inventive, practical solutions to physical and psychosocial health and safety challenges.
Respond to hazard and incident reports, ensuring accurate recording and efficient resolution or escalation.
Perform regular reporting and detailed analysis of safety and environmental information.
Champion a positive health and safety culture at all organisational levels.
Create end-user documentation that is clear and easy to follow.
The You
Contemporary health and safety professional who can integrate the safety agenda into broader organisational objectives.
Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline (preferred requirement – Diploma).
Engaging, people-focused approach; builds relationships and credibility.
Sound analytical and conceptual skills, strong attention to detail, investigative and inquisitive mindset.
Ability to communicate complex concepts simply.
Contemporary knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance, with ability to research and upskill.
Demonstrated experience in risk assessments, hazard identification and management, incident investigations, practical H&S advice, user-focused documentation, safety management systems, data reporting.
Experience in chemical management and internal auditing highly regarded.
Willingness and ability to traverse different physical landscapes indoors and outdoors; withstand limited exposure to noise and strobing lights (music concerts, art installations).
Current driver's licence.
Additional Information
This role can be 0.8 to 1.0 FTE (30.4 to 38 hours per week). Flexible daily start/finish times within weekly hours. While primarily on-site, some work from home can be supported.
