We are currently looking for an agile and dynamic Contract National Business Manager, to join our team for 6 months, supporting the operational management of our Coles Supermarkets business. The role will be permanently appointed in 2027, and therefore successful performance could lead to a permanent position.

What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Sales Director, you will support the strategic and operational management of a broad portfolio of Manassen Foods' products within Coles. Your mission is to champion the customer internally and ensure alignment with Coles’ broader strategy, whilst utilizing your commercial breadth & depth of knowledge to drive best practice execution and cross-functional collaboration.
* Financial Deliverables: Own and deliver annual sales, gross profit, market share and profitability targets across the Manassen Coles business, ensuring disciplined performance management and proactive intervention to mitigate risk and accelerate growth opportunities.
* Trade Investment: Lead trade investment strategy and governance across Manassen Coles business to optimise return on investment, strengthen margin delivery and ensure disciplined management of key commercial drivers including pricing, promotional effectiveness and forecast risk.
* Customer Management: Build and maintain strategic senior-level relationships with Coles, positioning Manassen as a trusted commercial partner and strengthening long‑term customer value, as measured by performance metrics in the annual Advantage survey results. Sustain robust trading relationships across various functions and tiers within the Coles business, overseeing critical timelines for category review process and JBPs for key categories.
* Integrated Business Planning: Key member and driver of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, with the ability to contribute to robust forecasting and cross‑functional alignment. Experience in the use of relevant ERP and trade spend management systems, including Blueshift or equivalent platforms.
* Communication & Collaboration: Collaborative and team‑oriented leadership style, with demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organisation, being naturally self‑motivated, organised, independent, driven and results‑oriented.
What you bring:
* Extensive experience in a senior sales or category management role within the FMCG industry, with a track record of managing major retail accounts.
* Exemplary commercial acumen, with a strong track record of balancing sales growth, margin delivery, trade investment effectiveness and long‑term customer value creation.
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex commercial negotiations with major retail customers and deliver high‑quality outcomes for both revenue and profitability.
* Strong strategic and financial capability, including experience interpreting P&L drivers, trade spend ROI, pricing architecture, promotional effectiveness and forecast risk.
* Proven experience in an organisation with a well‑functioning IBP/S&OP cycle.
* Ability to foster an engaged, accountable and high‑performing team environment that supports both results and development.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including to build relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
