As the Maintenance and Factory Worker at Wescorp Sandalwood Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in the operations of our sandalwood processing facility in Canning Vale. This full‐time position involves working closely with the Manager to perform various tasks in general and preventative maintenance, as well as repairs of equipment, facilities, and buildings under general supervision. You will be responsible for maintaining strict records of repairs, breakdowns, parts, and plant logging, and for complying with operational and safety procedures, including strict adherence to Wescorp Sandalwood's ISO 9001 & 14001 accreditation.
Responsibilities
* Complete scheduled maintenance actions as assigned within their due dates and signed off by the Manager.
* Comply with all safe work procedures relating to machinery and tools, and with the labeling and storage of hazardous substances as required by the Safety Act, National Codes of Practice and ISO 9001 & 14001 accreditation.
* Maintain accurate records of equipment manuals, user guides, maintenance practices and repair work for all facilities and equipment.
* Use these records to schedule future maintenance and detect recurring malfunctions.
* Uphold the standards outlined in the ISO operations manuals.
* Maintain sufficient stock, materials and tools necessary to complete tasks, and keep accurate associated records.
* Report hazards, take action to rectify unsafe work environments, and participate in safety training.
* Maintain regular temperature readings on specified machinery.
* Perform, monitor and record bearing and belt maintenance and changes.
* Maintain and distribute tools, ensuring the tools and maintenance area are kept clean, tidy, and well‐organised.
* Operate forklift to move product around the factory – must have a current forklift licence.
* Operate various machines when the correct training has been provided.
Qualifications
* Previous hands‐on experience in maintenance or a related trade.
* Experience as a machine operator or trade will be favoured but is not essential.
* Willingness to learn and grow within a new industry.
* Bush mechanic capabilities.
* Welding experience preferred.
