Job Title
Server (Dining Room Care Manager)
Responsibilities
* General Dining Service
o Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe environment for residents and team members.
o Provide dining service training to new care managers.
o Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and provide general descriptions to residents.
o Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items.
o Take meal and beverage orders and serve items according to established guidelines.
o Respond to residents' dining needs while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards.
o Attend pre-meal briefings to gain knowledge of meals and meal support activities.
o Follow all local, state/provincial, and federal policies regarding food handling.
o Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
* General Dining Room
o Perform dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness; adjust as needed to maintain quality standards.
o Maintain side work duties as assigned.
o Maintain assigned tables and surrounding areas in a clean, orderly state.
o Ensure dining room setup and reset of tables aligns with procedures.
o Support decorum and etiquette standards in the dining room.
o Perform opening and closing checklist criteria.
o Assist in tabletop inventories maintenance.
* Resident Services
o Review, read, note, and initial the Daily Log to document pertinent information.
o Review the Resident Diet Book-TSD or confidential chart.
o Maintain and protect the confidentiality of resident information.
* Food Safety and Sanitation
o Practice safe food handling to prevent foodborne illness.
o Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments.
o Maintain all work areas in a healthy and safe condition.
o Assist in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies placement.
* Risk Management and General Safety
o Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with national/provincial regulations related to occupational health and safety, promoting risk management programs and policies, and adhering to safety rules and regulations.
o Practice safety procedures at all times, including use of PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and lockout/tagout procedures.
* Training and Team Success
o Participate actively as a team member and work toward team goals.
o Demonstrate our Team Member Credo in daily interactions.
o Commit to serving residents and guests through Principles of Service.
o Contribute to engagement programs and processes.
o Attend regular meetings as directed by the Supervisor/Department Coordinator.
o Maintain required training compliance as applicable to Sunrise standards and regulatory authorities.
o Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications
* High School diploma or GED
* Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
* Food Safety Certification within 90 days of taking the position
* Certifications and ongoing training as required by Sunrise and state/provincial regulations, including:
o CPR and First Aid
o ServeSafe
* As applicable, all Sunrise team members who drive a Sunrise vehicle must sign the Driver job description and understand the key duties for safety and regulatory compliance
