This is not a standard Practice Lead role.

At Parkerville, our work sits at the intersection of youthsupport, family reconnection, and safety-governed practice. We supportyoung people experiencing homelessness, conflict, and instability to reconnectsafely with family, kin, or other stable care arrangements.

In this role, you will set the tone for how practice shows upacross the service - ensuring it is consistent, trauma-informed, relational,and grounded in what works in real life for young people and families.

A core part of this role is strengthening family-based practice,including:

* family counselling approaches
* reconnection and reunification work
* supporting safe repair of relationships whereappropriate

This is a full time role, based at Armadale with travel to Midland required. You'll work alongside teams navigating complex situations whererelationships may be strained, fractured, or unsafe - helping them find pathwaysforward that are safety-governed, youth-led, and family-centred.

What This Looks Like Day-to-Day

You'll be embedded in the work that matters most.

* Supporting staff to respond to complex family dynamics,conflict, and breakdown
* Providing practical therapeutic guidancethatteams can apply immediately
* Leading reflective supervisionthat deepensthinking and strengthens decision-making
* Strengthening reconnection and reunificationplanning, ensuring it is safe, realistic, and sustainable
* Helping teams develop care and safety plans thathold in real-life situations
* Building staff confidence in working not just withyoung people, but with families, carers, and kin

This is a role where practice is not theoretical - it is lived,tested, and continuously improved.

About You

You are someone who understands that lasting change for youngpeople often sits within relationships, not just individual support.

You may come from social work, psychology, family therapy, or arelated field - but more importantly, you bring:

* Strong background in family work, counselling, orfamily systems practice
* Experience in conflict resolution, mediation, ortherapeutic family interventions
* Demonstrated experience supporting reconnection,reunification, or placement stability
* Experience working with young people in complex,high-risk environments
* Understanding of the impact of trauma on young mums andtheir children
* Child development knowledge and attachment basedparenting

Practice leadership capability

* Confidence in supervision, consultation, andcoaching staff
* Ability to translate complex theory into clear,usable practice
* Experience strengthening risk assessment and safetyplanning
* A calm, grounded approach in high-pressure or crisissituations

* You understand that safety includes emotional,relational, and physical safety
* You believe in repair, not blame, and know whenreconnection is possible- and when it must be carefully managed
* You are committed to culturally safe, child-centred,and family-responsive practice

More Information

* SCHADS Schedule B Pay Point and Level – Level 6.1-6.3 - $55.72 - $58.19 per hour
* EAP Service with Wellness resources.
* Salary Packaging of up to $15,900.

Parkerville Children and Youth Care have a zero tolerance to alcohol and drugs.
