Plans and conducts independent scope of work and technical specifications for Civil/Structural design and field investigations on large size projects or assignments in support of a global business unit
Leads the design, development, modification and evaluation of Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project to which assigned
Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
Originates and checks complex Civil/Structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
Develops conceptual designs for Civil/Structural engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements
Interviews client personnel to determine their needs, develops scope for cost estimates for services and participates in proposal preparation and presentation
Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting
Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data
