About The Role

We are seeking a Coordinator Safety & Quality to join the Safety & Quality team which support and coordinator clinical governance across the Child and Adolescent Health Service divisions. Reporting to the Director Clinical Governance, Safety and Quality, you will work across clinical governance, quality improvement, incident management, risk, and policy, and support assessment, monitoring, review, and continuous improvement to establish and maintain effective performance monitoring, evaluation programs and practices.

Leveraging the knowledge of the broader teams, and in consultation with key stakeholders and clinical departments, you will ensure compliance with health service governance frameworks and accreditation requirements and contribute to the overall safety and quality of our health service.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Coordinating the provision of information and preparing reports to meet health service and related reporting requirements.
- Supporting the coordination of the CAHS clinical governance audit program and generating data and system reports to ensure alignment with the program.
- Building effective relationships and partnerships, working with stakeholders to build their awareness of the value of effective governance and the role of performance review processes in our continuous effort to minimise risk, improve safety and elevate quality of care.
- Providing advice and assistance to management and staff in the identification, review and management of safety and quality improvement activities within their respective areas.
- Providing training and support for CAHS staff regarding clinical governance, safety and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

About Our Team

Safety, Quality & Innovation lead the development, implementation and ongoing review of Child and Adolescent Health Service’s (CAHS) external certification and accreditation processes. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your understanding of the integrated systems which underpin our operations and support effective clinical governance.

We drive planning and execution of organisational strategy related to safety, quality, and clinical governance within and across CAHS’ services, and provide analysis and advice relating to broader health system reform agenda and key safety issues.

Through engagement with our workforce and consumers we ensure that our patients and their families are active partners in their healthcare journey and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services. We seek to maintain and foster a culture of continuous improvement at every level - identifying emerging trends, evaluating best practices, and implementing creative solutions to enhance patient safety and provide the highest quality care to our young patients and their families.
